The Cook Shop began over thirty years ago in the Union Arcade, Christchurch. Owned and operated by Joan Bates. She built up a unique and successful business by always offering the highest quality products. Town and country customers knew always to go to The Cook Shop for specialty kitchen items and quality gifts.

Today, The Cook Shop is owned and operated by Elizabeth Fry. She has continued to provide her customers with the quality kitchenware they seek, and has added her own personal touch to the shop, which is now located near the Town Hall on Colombo Street.
